This Week we have been creating Math's Quiz's using knowledge we have been learning in our Math's such as Algebra. My Math's quiz is set with equations with basketball Gifs and is interesting to do. What I found hard was thinking of a Math's Equation that had involved Lebron James. What I found easy was adding the Gifs and creating the backgrounds and fonts. Over all I enjoyed creating this Math's Quiz.

Today Whaea Tania and Whaea Cassandra came into our classroom and helped us learn more about around the world statistics. 

What I have learnt Today?

Today I have learnt to Understand to use the correct structure and language in a recount writing.

Today My class Room 4 had to use the correct structure and language in a recount. I wrote my recount about going to Auckland and sending my brother off to Las Vegas for Basketball.

 And In Maths we are learning to add Fractions with a Denominater.

Have you been to a Marae noho!

Marae noho

Last Thursday the 21/06/18 Rooms 3,4 and 5 were all gathered in the library getting ready for the busses

come and take us to Kohewhata Marae. We were all thrilled and ready to go. The busses finally pulled up
and we all packed our bags into the bus. We all got into the bus and Jontay, Ngaro, Amira, Sally and I
Walked to the back of the bus and sat in the back seats. On the way there all I could think about is what
we would be doing

We finally arrived at Kohewhata Marae. We hopped out of the busses, got our gear and gave it to the boys
to put  in the Wharekai. A few bags later

We all walked around on the footpath that leaded us to the entrance of the Marae as we were walking
down the footpath there were puddles as cold as ice. The KaiKaranga/Whaea Mary started to welcome
us into the Marae we walked through the entrance and shaked the kaumatua's hands. We started off with
karakia himene waiata and mihi’s.

Next we went into the whare kai and had morning tea. A few seconds later the year 8s went into the
kitchen with whaea ursula and had to make dinner in addition to this we all came to the bench and
wrote down whos doing what

Amira and I were making the fried bread we started with making the dough

The dough had to be soft and well needed Amira’s  dough was as soft and
well needed it was as soft as a Marshmallow but unfortunately mine was harder because
I had accidently added too much water.

But luckily it went a bit softer.

When we finished our dough Amira and I went around looking at what other people were doing.
After we were finished we had a little clean up then went into our teams and done some activities.
1 of the activities were where to find the matariki stars another was using clay to make imprints off
the carvings in the marae, Doing tukutuku panels,Making koauau and weaving. For me the best activity
was where to find the matariki stars and what time you can see them and how to find them.

Later on it was dinner for dinner we had cottage pie with chopped up cabbage and celery.
And for dessert we had Plum pie with custard and cookies and cream ice cream .
Dinner was Nice but the desert was even nicer.

After dinner we had showers and went to bed.  
The very next day we had to wake up early to make breakfast. I was helping do the toast.
All of a sudden breakfast was ready all the kids woke up and came into the wharekai.

After Breakfast we went had a little bit of free time. Amira and I walked back into the kitchen and
started making the dough for the hot dog bread. Once we were done making the bread Whaea Ursula
placed the bread in a warm area where the bread could rise. Lunch was nice

In conclusion the noho was great and my highlight was learning to cook new foods. I hope we go
back again

Learning to Code

We have been learning to code.  The coding I chose was minecraft
I enjoyed completing the levels
It was challenging when we got up to the higher levels
I helped others by showing them how to work it and what they did wrong and right
I needed help with higher levels.
It took me 45 minutes to finish the 12 stages.  When I finished the 12 stages I got a certificate.  I took screenshots as I worked my way through the stages.  When you look at the screenshots you can see how I used blocks to create the code which made me complete the level
