It is about having a Tuck shop in Tautoro School.

TTS Tautoro Tuck Shop

I think we should have a Tuck shop here in Tautoro School. Why?
Because It will help you from getting in trouble. Plus It will help the school if they need to fundraise for anything. Added on to this it is Fun.

My first main reason is because it will save you from getting in trouble.
Like what if you left your  stationery at home or what if it was crunched or soaked from the rain and you didn’t know what to tell your teacher. That would be dreadful. But What if there was a way you didn’t have to tell the teacher Wait I know how just buy one from the tuck shop. Now thats what im talking about. TUCK SHOP! TUCK SHOP!

My second main reason is that The tuck shop can help Tautoro school to fundraise for anything. How? For example If we wanted to have a hydro slide for our school pool And We don't have enough money we can use the tuck shop money to fundraise Because The tuck shop is on Tautoro ground isn’t it. Isn’t this wicked I think it is.

My third main reason is that it is fun to have a tuck shop here in Tautoro.
If we do get a Tuck shop one thing I know is that it is going to be fun.
Who doesn’t like fun. When we are playing bullrush maybe we could stop by next to the tuck shop and buy something to drink or to eat. Even the teachers might walk past and see something they like. Isn’t That just magnificent.

In summary I think we should have a Tuck Shop here at Tautoro school.
Don't you think! It will help fundraise, it will save you from getting in trouble and it is fun.

Lets have Fun!

SPLATTER SPLATTER WE NEED TO BE SAFE! WHO'S WITH ME

    WE NEED TO BE SAFE!

We must  be a safe community. Don’t you think?
We must change the speed limit around Tautoro. Added on to this,  I think we should also get pathways and pedestrian crossings. Why? For the safety of kids when they cross the road. Who’s with me?

My first main reason is to get footpaths on the side of the road for the  kids.
After school has finished kids walk home. Since there are no footpaths for them to walk on, they walk on the road.  What if a big truck came past and the truck hit that person and did not know. WOW! SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN! That is outrageous. We need footpaths to keep fellow students safe A.S.A.P.

My second main reason is to have pedestrian crossings .
So when they cross the road they will be safe and happy. Would you want to cross a road with a pedestrian crossing or a dreadful road with no pedestrian crossing with a chance of you getting hurt or even losing your life. We should stay safe and have pedestrian crossings around our community in Tautoro. Now that’s what I’m talking about.

My Third main reason is to change the speed limit.
Every time out of Kaikohe or even in Tautoro the speed limit is now horrible. People are going over 100 kilometres per hour. I think we should change the speed limit to 70 or under, to keep people and kids safe.  For example, what if someone was speeding and a student or adult popped out of nowhere, Bang! It would be a tragic accident.

In summary, we must make Tautoro a safe community so that there will be NO accidents.

                                                                          LET'S BE SAFE NOW!

CHINA! Read this cool fact book review

This week I have been reading CHINA by Jillian Powell
It is a fiction picture book.  It is mainly about how the city works and what it's like to live in China.

Here are some facts about China

  • China is a communist state, called the people's republic of China.

  • The Chinese currency is the yuan or the renminbi - the people's currency

  • China is the fourth largest country in the world.

  • Did you know more Chinese people speak a language called mandarin more than Chinese

This Chinese book tells you about what is going on in China like Parades,Festivals Shows and more.  Read this book to find out more information on China

One thing that amazed me that filled me up with joy was how weird that was that some of the Chinese people speak better in Mandarin.

We believe that we need cameras in our school. Would you like your stuff getting stolen and your kid is not using our hoe, and nothing happening about it? Do you agree or disagree?

We think that we need cameras in our school is because we want our school to be free of theft..  Aren't you just angry when your stuff  is stolen don't you just want to catch the thief. When kids come to school they will know that there are cameras monitoring what is happening in the school. For example someone could go to the hooks, take one of the bags and steal stuff out of there bag. Would you want that happening to your children/child.

Another reason why we think that we should have cameras in our school is because kids will not be breaking our Hoe Tikanga . This is because we have an awesome tikanga and the kids who are breaking these tikanga will be caught on camera this is so easier to find the thief. Added to this we should get cameras because kids will behave better and treat others in kinder ways. And for those who do the right thing they will always be rewarded.

In Summary,  I believe that we need cameras in our school.
Purely for security purposes and to keep everyone safe.
Surely everyone would want a school that is safe and secure.Let's step up and  make our school the best, number one in New Zealand Surely everyone would want a school that is safe and secure

Lets Bring cameras to our school!
Our next steps are: To be independent at using the correct strucutre for persuasive. Have well organised paragraphs with lead sentences and supporting detail. We will also learn about emotive words and phrases and how to use them to support our argument.

My Book Review

I have read Kahawai it is an amazing  fiction book written by Paul Mason.

This book is about a girl called Areta and her grandma Trish  who went fishing on a boat. They were looking for something to eat. They ignored this sign
that was telling them not to go fishing because the water is polluted. This book is talking about the future in Auckland. And its talking about how rubbish can hurt our environment

One of my questions About this book would be
  • Why did they ignore the sign?
  • Why did they release the fish back into the ocean?

Tautoro Schools 110th Ra Whanau

Rahina 20th june 2016 Iverson

Tautoro School’s 110th birthday.

I am learning to add figurative language to my writing and to use synonyms for said that match my mood.

STOP READ THIS!!! ----- Do you want to know how I saw a ghost? Nah, just kidding. Do you want to know all about how Tautoro School’s 110th birthday went? Well, read this story.

Birng Birng Birng!! On a Epic Friday morning there I was laying on my bed lazy and tired and silent like a statue while all the  kids are at school were celebrating Tautoro School’s 110th birthday…. Then all of a sudden  “Wake up, wake up”  my mum whispered shaking my bed. “ Ok, Ok I'm up”  I  whispered  I woke up and sat on my bed thinking, what’s that something that’s special today? I thought hard  Hmmm then a few minutes later Ding! the sound makes in my head “It's Tautoro School’s birthday! I exaggerate.  I hopped into the car and my mum took me to school. “Bye Mum” I said “Bye” she replied

I got out of the car and I could smell something so tasty I nearly Salivated.

Anyway I waked into the school and All the  kaumatua, Kuia and some Tamariki were welcomed with a powhiri. The  Kaumatua and Kuia  walked into the room and sat down on the chairs.

All the kids were sitting on the floor dressed up like they were from the 1900s. All the teachers were dressed up aswell  and had their canes ready.

The teachers changed the classrooms around to make it look like olden day classrooms.

After the powhiri all the kids went to go have morning tea.

After morning tea was finished all the tamariki had to go back into the Library  for  best costume and all of that. I said to Amira “  You have got this”  She exaggerated  “ No”

Anyway after a  few talks later miss Simeon brought out the cake. Everyone sang happy birthday in te reo and in pakeha.

After everyone sang Happy Birthday Miss Simeon said there were olden day games set in the classroom’s like
Hopscotch,
Knucklebones,
Marbles,
Spinning tops
And quoits

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW SOMeTHING ---- The Only Thing I thought was bizarre about the school’s were the school rules)

A couple of minutes later DING DING!! the old school bell rang.

All the kids walked out of the Library to go do the games I was in whaea Gaylene’s Roopu.

In our group there were

Armani,Daejsarhn,Jordan,Vj,Takuira,Alice,Tumanako,And Myself

After the game’s were  finished we had lunch DING DING the bell had gone and everyone had lunch and a play. Then the hangi came It was so delicious No one missed out on this hangi.

After the beautiful hangi and toffee apples all the  Kaumatua and kuia went. Then whaea Gaylene was giving the cake out  my jaw dropped I ran up to her so fast like a bullet flying in the air.  MMM I salivated it was so delicious I think I knew what that nice tasty smell was I could smell.

After the Beautiful cake all the tamariki and their whanau went into the library.

When  we got into the library the some whanau just said somethings about today and what they enjoyed most.

After the little get together was finished this pased generation school bell rang and the busses arrived. All the kids got on the bus and went home.

Ahhh I moaned And groaned to my mum “ Im so Tired” She said “ go have  a sleep then” “ ok ” I replied

One thing I enjoyed the most about that day was doing the games and learning  more about the olden days here in Tautoro.

Do you have a favorite author?

This week I've been reading Santa Claws by Paul Jennings.Screenshot 2016-03-22 at 9.38.37 AM.pngImage result for paul jennings
It is   about a boy called Sean whose lips are gone because he said Santa is fake and he’s just got a pillow stuffed under his top.
He told his little brother that everyone gets Two wishes each no one believed him .
So Helen the mum said I wish you didn’t have such of a big mouth.

My favourite part of the book was when  Sean had no lips.
What I have learnt is to never tell a little kid that santa is fake
What surprised me was that they got to have 2 wishes each and it actually came true.
Something interesting is that Sean used a straw to drink soup
